Five Family Habits (That Take 3-Seconds) To Grow Gratitude and Wonder for the Natural World in Your Kids
@ReGrounded.Parenting
(and What to Do Instead)
This free PDF guide shows you why small shifts in mindset, not perfection, are what really raise kids who care.
Without adding more activities or pressure to an already-full family calendar.
Most advice about reconnecting kids with nature seems to involve DOING more:
Go for more hikes. Grow your own vegetables. Plan outdoor activities. Visit nature reserves. Make elaborate scavenger hunts… and don’t forget to frolic daily with your smiling children through a meadow of wildflowers.
Sure. Great. Totally doable.
That’s why I started ReGrounded.Parenting.
I focus on the small, simple things that won't add to the daily pressure: the words you use, the things you point out, the stories you tell and the tiny habits your family repeats.
Because reconnecting kids with nature doesn’t always require taking them somewhere else.
Sometimes, it starts with helping them notice what is already there.
I'll help you grow your children’s sense of connection, appreciation and wonder for nature - without adding to your already overflowing to-do lists.
How? By focusing on things like:
🌱 Mindset shifts that change how kids see the world.
🌱 Language swaps that foster wonder, respect and care.
🌱 Tiny family habits that fit into ordinary life.
🌱 Stories and prompts that help the natural world feel more alive and meaningful.
And because kids who feel connected to nature are more likely to care about it, these small shifts can lay the roots for something deeper too: raising children who genuinely want to care for the earth.
Mom of 3 with a PhD in Environmental Ethics.
As an environmental philosopher, I spent over a decade considering how people can live in greater connection with nature (I published, lectured and even presented on this internationally).
But at home, the total chaos busy reality of raising 3 kids under 4 often left me stretched in a million different directions, unable to build daily “nature time” into our lives.
So I found myself asking: how do we (realistically) help our kids stay connected to the natural world when they’re growing up surrounded by screens, speed and artificial everything?
And then I realised that we have to start with the roots: the words, mindsets and rituals that shape how our kids see the world.
🌱 That’s how ReGrounded.Parenting was born: a realistic way for busy, imperfect parents - like me - to reconnect their kids with nature and raise children who care.
If you’re already off-grid weaving hemp diapers by candlelight, this isn’t for you.
If your kids have never seen an iPad and only answer to the moon cycle, you don’t need me.
Likewise,
If you don’t care at all about your kids connecting to nature - if you’re perfectly fine with them growing up with no love or respect for this "good green earth" - this won’t speak to you.
My courses and resources are for the parents in the messy middle.
The ones who look at this increasingly digital and artificial world and still want their kids to notice birds and trees and sky. To understand that their food didn’t begin in a plastic packet. To grow up with some sense of gratitude, wonder and care for the natural world around them.
The parents who care deeply but are tired, overwhelmed and cannot keep adding more hikes, outdoor adventures or beautifully planned nature activities to already-full family lives.
The ones looking for a realistic way to reconnect their kids with nature through small shifts that can happen in the middle of ordinary, everyday family life.
We don't have to DO.ALL.THE.THINGS. Small shifts can plant deep roots.
