Nature connection without more “nature time”

In a world of screens, speed and artificial everything, helping our kids stay connected to the natural world matters more than ever.

But realistically, most of us can’t keep adding more hikes, outings or “nature activities” to already-full family lives.

The good news is, we don’t need to.

Nature isn’t only somewhere “out there” that we visit on weekends or during designated nature time. It is already woven through ordinary family life: the fruit our kids eat, the rain running down the road, the tree shading the playground and the birds watching us from the garden.

In this free webinar, I’ll share five tiny family habits that take only seconds but can help your kids notice the natural world differently, recognise their relationship with it and grow more gratitude and wonder over time.

This webinar is for you if:

  • You want your kids to grow up noticing and caring about the natural world

  • You worry that screens and increasingly artificial environments are crowding out their connection to what is living

  • You love the idea of more meaningful family rituals but don’t have capacity for more demanding activities

  • You want realistic ideas that take seconds, not elaborate projects or weekend planning

  • The ideas are especially suited to children aged 4–11, though parents of younger or older children are very welcome too.

What we’ll cover

You’ll learn five simple habits you can weave into moments that are already happening, including how to:

  • Make something in the natural world feel familiar and personally meaningful

  • Help your kids recognise what a tree is giving them in an ordinary moment

  • Use one simple family phrase to reveal the natural world behind everyday food

This is not another list of outdoor activities to organise.

It is a practical, mindset-based way to bring nature connection into the family life you already have.

A Reminder About Me

Hi, I'm Jess (mom of 3 with a PhD in Environmental Ethics).

As an environmental philosopher, I spent more than a decade exploring why our connection to the natural world matters (I published, lectured and even presented on this internationally).

I know how important it is for our kids to grow up noticing, valuing and feeling part of the natural world. BUT I also discovered how difficult it can be to keep that connection alive in the middle of school runs, packed lunches, screen time, work and the general chaos of busy family life.

I began to realise that nature connection doesn’t have to depend on doing more. It can also grow through the tiny words, mindsets and family rituals woven into regular, everyday life.

🌱 That’s how ReGrounded.Parenting was born: to help busy parents raise kids who feel connected to and care for the natural world through small shifts that fit into real life.

See you there!
